Descriptions:
You would have seen cracks like this in many buildings above and below the windows. I will tell you why these cracks occur and how these cracks do not occur. Generally, when we construct a wall, we make a sill beam of 3 to 4 feet and a lintel beam of 7 to 7.5 feet.
Generally, we place the window between the lintel beam and the sill beam. The crack occurs mainly because we place the lintel beam and the sill beam for the size of this window. It is very important to run this lintel beam, sill beam and column to column throughout.
By doing this, we distribute the weight of the wall equally and pass it on to the column. Similarly, we distribute the pressure generated by placing the window and the pressure generated by window expansion. Another important thing is that whether we place the window or not, the lintel beam and the sill beam must be in that wall.
If you need more clarity about your building and structures, I can support you.
