Descriptions:
DM plant — its full form is Demineralizer. In this plant, water contains minerals like calcium and magnesium. These minerals are removed to produce ultra-pure water.
To check the quality of this water, a measurement called conductivity is used. The conductivity reading for this water is around 30 microsiemens.
DM water plays a very important role in the pharmaceutical industry. In pharma, tablets, medicines, injections, and syrups are all made using ultra-pure water to mix the necessary ingredients. Hence, DM water is essential for production.
A DM plant has two main portions — cation and anion. When water passes through these two resin beds, it becomes demineralized water.
This pure water is not only important for pharma products but also used in power plants. Recently, we supplied a DM plant to a power plant with a size of 2.2 meters, and the cation and anion columns were 1.8 meters high.
In such plants, only ultra-pure water can be used to run turbines and boilers.
