First parameter: Indoor or outdoor protection
You need to know whether the component you are going to store will be indoors or outdoors. By indoor, I mean a place covered inside a shed. That is called indoor protection. Outdoor protection refers to any component kept outside your shed, directly exposed to the environment. You need to decide whether it is indoor or outdoor protection.
In case it is indoor protection, you need a rust preventive oil that can provide up to six months of rust protection. If it is for outdoor protection, your rust preventive oil should provide at least three months of rust protection.
Second parameter: Humidity
You need to know the humidity in the area where your components are being stored. For example, humidity in Chennai is very high, which means the rust preventive oil needs to be considered differently than in other places.
Third parameter: Environment
If your manufacturing plant is located very near the seashore, your automotive components will get rusted quicker than in a normal environment.
