I know sales engineers who sit in front of customers and explain 7 to 8 pages of a technical proposal thinking that they will be closing that deal. But you know what? You might be closing 1 or 2 deals out of 10. Sales is not about how much you know about the product, it’s all about how much you understand your customer.
When you start going too technical into your product, your customer will feel lost. Listen, what is he going to do with too much information about your product? Is he going to manufacture your product?

That’s the difference. Sales is not about you selling the features; it’s all about the value you create for your customer. When you can do that, you can sell more.
