My client’s server room was recently burnt by a fire accident. The fortunate thing about this is that the cabin with 60 computers in that office was not damaged. This client came and asked us to set up this server room again.
When we went to see, we found out that not only the server was not damaged, but also the wiring system inside was completely damaged. If this needs to be completely changed, we need to redesign and implement the entire networking cable in that building to make that server live again. Within 3 days, we designed and implemented this and within 10 days, we made it ready for the operation to start in their office.
There are 3 important things we found out in this. First, since they had dual backup, we were able to recover their data again. Second, if you had laid this cable with a proper networking consultant, there would have been no such issues.
Third, when we went even more advanced and rebuilt that server room, we suggested anti-static flooring and laid it. So, in the future, we can prevent electricity-related accidents. We did a good thing for this client many years ago.
That is dual backup. Only with that implementation, this entire backup is safe. Even if my client asks who should implement the server, I blindly recommend dual backup.
