Why does a maintenance team need RCFA training? Let me explain. Hi, this is Murali Krishna from Total Maintenance Solutions. We provide electrical, mechanical, and civil-related solutions to manufacturing industries. The full form of RCFA is Root Cause Failure Analysis. Why do we need it? In most industries, customers frequently face bearing failure, seal failure, or belt failure. Generally, the maintenance team replaces the bearing, oil seal, or belt with a reputed brand or a more expensive product. They feel the problem is solved. But the answer is no.

If there is a recurring issue in the machine, even if you use a reputed brand, the belt, seal, or bearing will fail again. So, how do we eliminate this. The only solution is RCFA. How is RCFA done? First, an expert thoroughly analyzes the entire equipment. He identifies all the factors causing the specific failure. Then, the root causes are eliminated. This helps pinpoint the exact problem and provide a precise solution. This process is called RCFA.

Once RCFA is properly carried out and the right solution is implemented, the customer will not face the same problem again in the future. That is why I strongly recommend that every maintenance team member should undergo RCFA training. With more than 22 years of experience in this field, we have analyzed and performed RCFA for more than 1000 bearings. If you are facing repeated failures in bearings, oil seals, or belts, we can conduct RCFA, provide a detailed RCFA report, and also train your team in RCFA.
