In 1932, when India was still under British rule, Mr. M.K. Nambisan had a bold vision — to create a brand that would bring pure, high-quality ghee to Indian households. At a time when the dairy industry was unorganized and branded ghee was almost unheard of, Nambisan’s was born — not just as a product, but as a symbol of trust and tradition.
Starting as Nambisan’s D.V. Dairy Farm in Tamil Nadu, the founder’s focus on sourcing the finest milk from South India’s milk belt and using traditional methods to craft pure ghee set the foundation for a lasting legacy. Families soon came to trust the unmistakable taste and quality of Nambisan’s — making it a staple in kitchens across South India.
➡️ By 1964, Nambisan’s had transitioned into Nambisan’s Dairy Pvt. Ltd., growing its presence to over 30,000 retail outlets and nearly 300 distributors across South India.
➡️ In 2015, Nambisan’s introduced a modern touch — a new ghee packaging design crafted in Italy, which won the Indiastar Award for best packaging in India.
➡️ In 2016, a state-of-the-art ghee plant designed in Europe was commissioned, enabling exports to the Middle East.
➡️ In 2021, Nambisan’s introduced a special Biryani Ghee, crafted to enhance the rich flavors of biryanis. The launch, led by renowned actor Jayaram, showcased how Nambisan’s continued to innovate while staying true to its roots.
Today, under the leadership of Vivek Nambisan’s has strengthened its presence globally. Nambisan’s Ghee is now available across the GCC countries — including the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia — and Singapore through a professional distribution network.
From a time when India was still under colonial rule to becoming an internationally recognized brand, Nambisan’s story is a testament to how vision, quality, and tradition can build a lasting legacy. After 9 decades, the recipe remains unchanged: Quality, Trust, and Tradition.
